Our purpose
At The Unlikely Mummy, we are committed to breaking barriers in mental health by providing accessible, inclusive, and community-driven support. Our mission is to ensure that no one struggles alone, especially parents, individuals facing social anxiety, and those from underrepresented communities who often go unheard in mainstream services.
What we do
We recognise that mental well-being is not one-size-fits-all. That’s why we offer tailored support that meets people where they are, through:
- Peer support and counselling: Safe spaces for open conversations, mentorship, and guidance from those with lived experience and counsellors.
- Walk and talk therapy: Combining movement with mental well-being, creating an alternative to traditional therapy settings.
- Workshops and training: Equipping individuals, organisations, and professionals with tools to support perinatal mental health, social anxiety, and cultural inclusivity.
Why it matters
Many people struggle in silence because they don’t see themselves reflected in the support available. The Unlikely Mummy exists to change that. Our approach is rooted in lived experience, ensuring that our services are not only effective but also culturally competent, accessible, and stigma-free.
Through advocacy, investment, and partnerships, we drive long-term change, making mental health support a right, not a privilege.
Our commitment
We are here to listen, support, and challenge the status quo. Whether through direct services, advocacy, or systemic change, our goal is simple: to create a world where mental health support is available to everyone without barriers.
